At Splashpress Media we use the WordPress search plugin on several of our blogs to create a search across mini channels. This has improved cross network traffic and allowed us to better promote our other properties.
Thanks to the flexibility of Search Plugin, we can even run our own ads above and below the search results, without difficulty to implement our own customised search engine and having to use complex APIs to embed the results in our designs, like most other search engines require.
